Holy Makkah Municipality is preparing to implement “green city” project which make Makkah city fully dependent on solar energy for electricity generation. This comes within the Kingdom’s direction towards finding alternative energy sources, says Deputy Assistant Secretary for Developing Municipal Investments. He assured that the project will save more that SR 2 billion in favor of the Saudi state treasury over the next 20 years.
