Launching PA-CEMP in Jordan

July 2018: Under the patronage of the Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Revolution, Eng. Amani Azzam, the Pan Arab "Certified Energy Management Professional program (PA-CEMP) was launched in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.  The program launch in Jordan was a result of the cooperation between RCREEE, the Jordanian Engineers Association (JEA) with the support of Ministry of Energy and Mineral resources / Jordan Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Fund (JREEF) and Technical Assistance Program to the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Programme (REEE II) based on the MoU signed last April.

The first round was held during 29 july 29 to 2 August  2018 at the Engineers Training Center at the Jordan Engineers Association. Attendees were welcomed by  opening statements from their excellences Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Eng. Amani Al Azzam, JEA President Eng. Ahmed Samara Al Zu'bi and JEA General Secretary  Eng. Mohammed Abu Afifah.  The first round welcomed 27 participants with various background.

PA-CEMP is an in-depth professional certification program for energy mangers tailored for the Arab region.  PA-CEM was developed by RCREEE and the Energy Department at the League of Arab States in response to the increasing importance of energy efficiency applications in the Arab countries in previous years. PA-CEMP aims to assist organizations and program administrators in planning and implementing Energy Efficiency programs and measures in the Arab region. Also, it aims at equipping entities and professionals with the latest technologies, energy essentials and the effective means with solutions to reduce energy consumption in a cost effective approach. Besides, PA-CEMP will enable all participants with different educational backgrounds to create a commercially viable energy concept. This helps organization to directly apply what the participants learnt in the program and to use energy efficiently and save money.

Jordan is the second Arab country to launch as an endorsed program by the Executive Bureau of the Arab Ministerial Council of Electricity during their 32th session on May 31, 2016.

The program was firstly launched in Egypt. The first session was held under the patronage of the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy in Egypt from 5 to 9 November 2017. Followed by 5 sessions, PA-CEMP awarded around 70 experts in energy management the certificate from Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
