GN‑SEC welcomes Ambassador ret. Irene Giner‑Reichl as new Good Will Ambassador


The Global Network of Regional Sustainable Energy Centres (GN‑SEC) is pleased to announce that Ambassador ret. Irene Giner‑Reichl has accepted the offer to act as new Good Will Ambassador for the network. 

She brings decades of leadership in international relations, sustainable development, women’s empowerment, environment, energy, and multilateral diplomacy. She has served in several high‑level roles within the Austrian diplomatic service and on international level. 

A widely respected thought leader, Ambassador Giner‑Reichl is the co‑founder of the Global Forum on Sustainable Energy (GFSE) and the Global Women’s Network for the Energy Transition (GWNET). She continues to serve on the boards of international think tanks and remains active as a lecturer and author on global governance, peace, development, and energy transition topics.

In her role, she will help to: 

  • amplify the visibility of the GN‑SEC platform and its regional centres,
  • create awareness on regional cooperation as an accelerator for a just energy transition in the Global South,
  • strengthen South–South and triangular cooperation,
  • advocate for women’s leadership in the global energy transformation,
  • and support GN‑SEC’s engagement with international partners and global forums.
